Love Letter
Privacy Policy

No account with us, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Love Letter has no server of its own. It doesn't send us usage statistics or crash reports.
It talks only to the services you connect. Your GitHub, your mail accounts and App Store Connect get only what they need to show and answer your feedback.
Your data stays yours. It's stored on your devices, synced through your own iCloud, and any AI features run on your device.
Love Letter ("the app") is made by Amir Hayek ("we"). This policy explains what the app stores, where it sends it, and how to remove it. It covers the app on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and its command-line tool.
Services you connect
Love Letter gathers feedback about your own apps. To do that, it connects directly from your device to the services you add. Each one handles your data under its own privacy policy:
- GitHub. When you sign in with GitHub, the app reads and writes issues, comments, labels, milestones and releases in the repositories you choose, and can create a new feedback repository for you. GitHub's privacy statement.
- Your mail accounts. When you add a mail account (for example iCloud, Gmail or Outlook), the app signs in to that provider's IMAP and SMTP servers to read feedback email and send your replies. It can also file the replies you send in your Sent folder.
- App Store Connect. If you add an App Store Connect API key, the app reads your apps' customer reviews and posts the responses you write. Apple's privacy policy.
The app only acts on these services when you ask it to, or on a schedule you set to check for new feedback.
What stays on your devices
Your products, repositories, mail threads, reply templates, translations, summaries and settings are stored on your device. The app also keeps a local cache of issues and attachments so it works offline.
Most of this syncs through your own iCloud account (CloudKit), so it appears on your Mac, iPad and iPhone. Your GitHub token, mail passwords and App Store Connect key are kept in iCloud Keychain. That data belongs to your Apple Account and is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We can't read it.
AI features
Summaries and triage use Apple Intelligence on your device, and translation uses Apple's on-device Translation framework. The text you process isn't sent to us or to any AI provider.
Everything else the app contacts
- Device names. The app downloads a public list of Apple device model names from appledb.dev so it can show "iPhone 17 Pro" instead of a model code. Nothing about you or your feedback is sent.
- Notifications. If you allow them, the app shows notifications on your device about new feedback. They're created on your device, not sent from a server.
- Links. Help, documentation and account pages open in your browser, under that website's own policy.
The Love Letter SDK
Developers can add the Love Letter SDK to their own apps so their users can send feedback. That feedback goes to the developer's own repository or relay, not to us. The developer who ships the SDK is responsible for telling their users how that feedback is handled.

How long things are kept
- On your devices and in your iCloud: until you remove it in the app or delete the app.
- On GitHub, your mail provider and App Store Connect: under your accounts there, for as long as you keep it.
- With us: nothing, unless you email us.
Your choices
- Disconnect an account in the app's Settings. Its credentials are removed from your Keychain.
- Turn off iCloud for the app in the Settings app, under your Apple Account.
- Delete the app to remove everything it stored on that device.
- Ask us at hayek_dev@icloud.com about any data we hold. Depending on where you live you may have rights under the GDPR, the CCPA or a similar law. We honour them wherever you are, free of charge.
TestFlight
If you test a beta through TestFlight, Apple shares your TestFlight feedback, crash reports and basic device information with us, under Apple's privacy policy. We use it only to fix the app.
Children
The app is a tool for app developers. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data handling changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves.
